Bravery doesn’t always look big.

Sometimes it’s saying hello to someone new, putting your hand up in class, trying something unfamiliar or having another go when something feels difficult.

The My Brave Moments Journal gives children their own special place to write, draw and remember the courageous things they try.

Designed as the perfect companion to our Brave Cards, children can use their journal after completing a challenge to record what they did, how they felt and what they discovered about themselves.

There are no rules and no pressure. Children can write a few words, draw a picture, add a sticker or simply make a mark that reminds them of their brave moment.

Turn little acts of bravery into lasting memories

Every completed Brave Card gives your child an opportunity to see that confidence isn’t something they either have or don’t have. It’s something they can build through practice.

Looking back through their journal can help them recognise:

• The new things they were willing to try
• The moments they worked through nervous feelings
• The challenges that became easier with practice
• The little victories they may otherwise forget
• Just how much their confidence has grown

Write it, draw it or tell the story together

The journal is intentionally open-ended, allowing every child to use it in the way that feels most comfortable to them.

Younger children can draw their experience while a parent writes down their words. Older children can use it independently to reflect, set small goals or celebrate something they’re proud of.

Simple prompts to get them started

After completing a Brave Card, you could ask:

• What brave thing did you try?
• How did you feel before you did it?
• How did you feel afterwards?
• What are you proud of?
• What did you learn about yourself?
• Would you try it again?

Children don’t need to answer every question. One sentence, one picture or one happy memory is enough.
